Race Lesson

This Black Lives Matters (BLM) lesson plan is designed to provide students an understanding of the history of the BLM movement. It also addresses censorship in art with BLM content and how some groups are affected by the imbalances of power dynamics in American society that oppress groups based on assumptions, biases, and prejudices because of their race and ethnicity. In the lesson students compare and contrast a news article and news video and look at how different perspectives and messages are conveyed through different media platforms.
