“A is for Angicos” is a new documentary about the life and pedagogy of Paolo Freire
Hot on the heels of our reading from Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” there is a new documentary about his life and teaching praxis called “A is for Angicos”. Angicos was apparently the town in which he demonstrated that using his methods an illiterate person could learn to read in forty days because the material was relevant to the lives, experiences, and ambitions of the students. I have looked to see whether it is available on any of the streaming platforms I have access to, but no luck yet 🙁 Please let me know if you find it somewhere online!

I found it on https://youtu.be/f4NkIl8wgTc
