Texas Teacher put on leave after having BLM and LGBTQ+ signs in her virtual classroom
This is a great teacher! I am so impressed how she is handling the situation and using it as a way to push for more social justice education/training and inclusionary practices from her district.

This article shows just how powerful a tool for social justice the Linguistic Landscape can be. I could see using this article and another that represents the exact complaints from the families in a class jigsaw reading activity. If a second article is not available, students could search for more information on the demographics of the school and make predictions about what exactly the community objected to having on the teachers virtual wall.
