Website: Learning for Justice
Hi everyone! While I was doing my lesson plan, I came across this awesome website found here that has a lot of great resources for educators. It was formerly named Teaching Tolerance. Yes it is geared more towards K-12 but I think everyone find something that may be useful to them.
Here are some of the items they have:
- Podcasts
- Articles
- Classroom resources
- Frameworks
- Professional development workshops
And the list goes on and on…
I used these standards from the website in my lesson plan. You can download them for free!
Hi Yanci, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this website and especially the social justice standards! Those were extremely helpful for me as I was revising my lesson plan and trying to make sure that my objectives and activities could be tied to specific standards. I also explored the “Teaching Hard History Cohorts” (https://www.learningforjustice.org/professional-development/teaching-hard-history-professional-learning-cohorts) on the Learning for Justice page and thought those would be such a great opportunity for professional development. I thought it was especially awesome that this opportunity is FREE. You must be a K-12 teacher to be eligible, but who knows, I could end up there some day and this is a great resource to have in my back pocket. 🙂
