Wow! Really interesting read Deniz. I actually shared this with my partner. He’s been doing an internship with the City Council about parking in Monterey. Anyway, he’s learned a lot about how basically in the US we don’t build cities for people, we build them for cars. Policies on new housing and development, new businesses etc are deeply tied to cars because policies require that there are a certain amount of spaces to park within a certain distance of the housing/business. We really make everything about cars. The last part of the article really reminded me of his research.
