The lead water pipe removal program, which was established in 2017, was court ordered and part of a massive lawsuit on behalf of the Flint residents. So far the city has excavated and checked more than 27,000 pipes and replaced over 10,000 pipes. However, the residents of Flint, aren’t so sure the water is safe to drink.
