Dear Kin: An LGBTQ+ and Two-Spirit Storytelling Project
**Update 10/7: I just registered and discovered this online event is free! And if you register, you’ll receive a link where you can access the recording in case the time difference doesn’t work for you.**
On October 15th, there will be a virtual premiere and exhibition of the Dear Kin storytelling project at the Anchorage Museum. Read more and register here. The event does cost money (I think you can get a student discount), but it is a really great project. There will also be a moderated panel discussion after the video. I will try to update in the comments here if/when the video becomes available publicly. Here is an interview with one of the creators of this project (both creators, Jenny Irene Miller and Alexis Anoruk Sallee, are Inupiaq, from northwest Alaska) and also a preview of several of the portraits. Besides representation of queer Indigenous folks from Alaska, this project also raises awareness about the additional layer that the community faces as a result of cultural destruction brought on by colonization.

Thank you so much for sharing this resource, Mollie! I just registered, and the event is free (folks can make a donation if they so choose, but it’s not obligatory). Can’t wait for a week from tonight!
Thanks for sharing Mollie! I am registered!!
