Rural areas have been slow to connect to broadband. More public funding could speed things up
This article is about families and students who live in rural areas and don’t have access to “good” internet to be able to participate in school. Sadie Perry, interviewed in the article states, “I think they forgot us out here.”

Hi Yanci, thank you for posting this article. People in rural areas are often forgotten or left out when it comes to policy decisions. I recently started teaching high school students in Hawaii online, and some of them have frequent internet/tech issues. The U.S.’s infrastructure is outdated in general, and this issue just shows how high-speed internet access should be treated as a utility alongside water and electricity, not some kind of extra, optional luxury service that only some people have access to/can afford.
This sounds like a really interesting article. Looking forward to reading it!
