Hello all,

This is the link to my materials adaptation.

There is another document linked in the Google doc, please free feel to check it out. I analyzed more aspects of this textbook to give you a broader sense of the problems I pointed out from this textbook.

For the adaptation assignment, I used a critical literacy concept to criticize the materials, which is one lesson that talking about “directions”. Two students are driving to Chinatown and they had a short conversation including words of giving directions. However, the cultural concept connotation behind the dialogue is about exoticizing Chinatown, perpetuating stereotypes on  American Asian or Chinese, and international students’ lifestyles.
