JK Rowling’s newest book perpetuates transphobia
J.K. Rowling’s newest book Troubled Blood, released under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, has come under fire from transpeople’s rights activists for its transphobic plot line. The book follows the murder of a doctor who’s killer is believed to believed to be trans. You can read more about the book and activists’ reactions to it here.
This is not the first book in the crime series to have bias against transpeople, and the Rowling’s chosen pseudonym is another clear indication of the author’s transphobia. Robert Galbraith Heath was an American psychiatrist known for his work in conversion therapy. You can read more about him and Rowling’s nod to him here.

This is very unfortunate to read about this Author’s work and the biases which are being instilled within literature. Some of J.K. Rowling’s audience is younger generations or youth and it is frustrating to see it being perpetuated. It is interesting to me that she is using a ghost author too, I wonder if that is personal or publishing choice.
