Local Peacebuilding

The Monterey Peninsula is providing an example of what local peacebuilding can look like. A recently formed Monterey Peninsula group, “Jews Christians Muslims United (JCM United)” opened “Abraham’s tent” on November 21, 2019, working together across faith groups (with Congregation Beth Israel, the Islamic Society of Monterey County, and various churches) to serve those in need, serving meals every Thursday. Thanks for sharing this nice community practice, Melanie! I didn’t really think about what peacebuilding looks like in the local level, so this example is helpful! It’s interesting that different religions (but no Buddhism?!) can work together to help the poor and those in need for help.
Your writing style is engaging.
So glad I stumbled upon this.
Thanks for simplifying a difficult subject.
