Inclusive Dress Policy

Last year, Seattle Public Schools updated their dress code policy citing “students should be able to dress and style their hair for school in a manner that expresses their individuality without fear of unnecessary discipline or body shaming.” This is a great step as many dress codes discriminate along gender and racial lines. In the video, the senior assistant general counsel says the responsibility of managing distraction is on the individual not on the person who is dressing a certain way.
